Education and Work Background

I am from Papua New Guinea. I graduated with my Master of Science in Educational Technology from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Stillwater, Oklahoma in May 2018. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology with a Minor in Web Development from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2004 and was hired to work for Tulane Medical Library as Data Communication Technician/Web Developer from 2004 to 2005. I moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma with my family in 2006 and started working for OSU as the Assistive Technology Specialist from 2007 to 2013. After my work permit expired in 2013, my wife and I applied for permanent residency (PR) and were granted PR status in 2017. We have two children. One is in college and the other is in high school. In my free time, I like to volunteer. I have volunteered at Stillwater Habitat for Humanity, Stillwater Soccer Club, and the OSU Family Resource Center. I enjoy sports, the outdoors, and coaching youth sports.

Master of Science in Educational Technology

After three years at home with my daughter, I decided to go back to school to pursue my graduate studies at OSU. I learned about the Masters in Educational Technology program through Dr. Sanogo at the College of Education and Human Sciences. This led me to schedule an appointment and meet with Dr. Stansberry about my interest in the Educational Technology masters program. I felt that my work experience and the Masters in Educational Technology was best fit for me having worked with students, staff, and faculty members while dealing with technology and learning at OSU. I eventually applied for the program and was accepted in the Spring of 2016 and graduated with my Master of Science in Educational Technology in 2018.

Ph.D. in Learning, Design, and Technology

After a year at home, I applied for the Learning, Design, and Technology doctoral program at OSU and was accepted into the program in Fall 2020. I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) in the Learning, Design, and Technology program and anticipates graduating in Fall 2024. My research interest, writing & presentations revolve around Design-Based Research (DBR) and how this research methodology can be applied to different educational contexts. I enjoy researching and exploring fun and creative ways to use emerging technologies to design online and face-to-face learning experiences such as designing instructions and immersive learning experiences in formal and informal educational settings, and finding out the impacts these designs have on learning. After I graduate, I hope to work in academia or in the industry doing something related to Educational Technology.
